Latent Profiles of Self-efficacy and Stress Coping: Differences in College Satisfaction and Life Stress

Abstract
This study was executed to divide the latent profiles of college students' self-efficacy and stress coping and verify the difference of college life satisfaction and college life stress according to the profile. Data was collected from 708 students (322 males, 386 females), from 5 colleges in the Gyeonggi and Gyeongsang provinces. Via analysis, 3 late classes were identified according to self-efficacy and stress coping style: 1st, highself-efficacy type (high stress coping), 2nd, middle self-efficacy type (high stress coping), 3rd, low self-efficacy type (low stress coping). Results showed the 1st class was higher than the other two in college life satisfaction and college life stress. There was no difference between the 2nd and 3rd classes in college life satisfaction and college life stress was highest in the 3rd, 2nd and 1st classes, respectively. Based on these results, the necessity of individualized studies, student self-efficacy support methods, and coping strategies are discussed.
